Party ! party !

Don't you just love parties? During the Holidays, parties are everywhere. We had great time seeing friends and families , while my kids enjoyed receiving gifts. It was a time to catch up with each others lives, enjoy good food and have great time together. And funny how during those parties, we plan our future parties. Yes, with my cousins, we are planning a Super Bowl party by next month. Three of my cousins will celebrate their special day and we think it would be practical for all of us to just have one celebration. Of course, i am the head person to organize the party. I already ordered a few party materials like paper plates, cups, decors , all the works ! And it will be all connected with the Super bowl theme, you know! Now I am in search too for super bowl recipes . But i won't do the cooking since I am not sure if i can deliver it well. Do you know where i can find easy recipes that is really filling in the tummy? The usual snack type ones will of course be readily available for all of us. Wow! I am excited, its just 2 weeks time and its party mood again!

Last Thanksgiving Sale , my friends got crazy shopping for home stuff while I only got a few RL pillows and Digital frame. Last night, I saw their loots , and boy, I wish I got myself a new set of Corelle plates. So now, I am checking online on where to get the cheapest one. So far, this looks appealing to me..

Kiddie beds

This 2010, I am excited over a lot of things concerning my kids. First, my little boy will go to preschool 5 times a week. He will also take drum lessons for summer. Then my girl will take swimming, something that they both love to do religiously. These simple things make a mom excited, right? Also, this year, we will train our boy to sleep in his own bed. So the hunt for the perfect childrens beds begins. One of my criteria is that the design should somehow be of my son's interest.. so it maybe sporty, or with cars etc. Looking through the internet, I found this and I think this will make him love his own bed.



This reminds me of the grand prix. My son is crazy with Cars, especially the Disney Cars so this will really make him enjoy sleeping or playing in his own bed. I am not sure though if they have it in color blue - his favorite color. If they have one, then there's no reason to look at some other designs. Oh, it makes me feel more excited. When the time comes that it will be my daughter's turn to have her own bed, I bet she will get something fit for a princess, even with a canopy. They grow up fast, it is right that I am enjoying every moment with them.

Designer Barbies

When I was young, I always dreamed of having a barbie doll. My dad gave me one during grade school, then a few more came as gifts from family. My mom even bought us a Barbie Beauty salon. I feel sad that I wasn't able to keep it for my baby girl. Barbie has been a girls trademark ever since. Through the years, they made so many models already like the wedding, beach inspired, rock glam etc etc.. Now, make way for the kate Spade and Tory Burch inspired Barbie dolls. Home plans for 2010

I want to start the year right by saving and cutting down shopping expenses. It was a bit tough , but I always think of the fruits of my labor. We need to start out with our home plans this early. So far, i am doing good with my savings, and I am also looking out for possible areas that we can consider. My husband works at the south part, so I think that would be perfect when it comes to convenience. They have great schools , facilities and establishments too. It would be nice for our kids since the city it congested already, with lots of pollution anywhere.

I am excited to see model houses too. These houses usually provides floor plans to their possible clients . Some modifications can be done , depending on you needs and requirements. Good thing me and my husband knows a little about these floor plans and architecture. I feel really excited, I am reading home design magazines for now. I want to get ideas for our future home.

I am one proud momma.

Take a look at my son's handwriting. He is turning four by April and he hasn't been in any preschool yet.. and look how he writes his name. The second line is the name of his cousin - Biboy. How time flies.. by the next school year, i will officially have a preschooler.

Tables and Chairs

I am really on a rush now to find commercial tables and chairs for a big event in our family. Yes, after much debate, we have decided to buy and not rent anymore this time. We think that it would be more practical for us to spend on this since we are holding parties few times a year. I calculated the costs of renting these chairs and tables, and still, we can really save if we get to buy items on sale especially. We want some folding tables to go with the chairs. To save space on storage, these folding tables would be a great choice . It is something sturdy and compact, right? I am looking for a big sale now online, and i was lucky enough to see the best brands on sale!!! Wow, talk about being lucky .

I think i only need to decide for the brand and color of the tables. But sticking with the basics white or cream would be okay. It would be easy to match the theme and motif of the party. Then I also need some stackable chairs. Again, for the purpose of saving space , this is perfect. I also noticed after parties that these type of chair is so easy to clean up and store. Wow, finally we have our own set of tables and chairs for our parties. I think we can even have this rented if some neighbors would need it .

Hello Tuesday

The absence of our helper in the house made me tremendously busy lately. Imagine attending to two kids and doing most of the chores here. I am thankful that my younger sister is such a big help for me. During the times that i need to do something, she looks after my kids, thus making me do what i need to do in no time.

But still, I feel really tired that I want to have a break before Friday and have a massage at the mall. My back is aching already.. i think i deserve some me time at the end of the week, right?

One of the things that i value as a person in education. I am blessed having supportive parents who helps us with our school assignments, projects and what-nots. Now, as a parent, I would do the same to my kids as long as I can. But looking through the assignments of my cousin who is in junior high school, i got shocked because I don't remember those lessons from Physics and Chemistry. Now I understand my cousin why she got her child a physics tutor.

In the future, I will surely consider this idea if i can't handle the lessons of my kids anymore. I better entrust it to someone who truly knows the craft. I will surely be needing some Chemistry help, because i remember in high school, I had a hard time catching up with this subject. There's a lot of difficult Science questions and i had a hard time with the answers. Nowadays, parents are lucky because there's online tutoring program, 24 hrs a day. Mickey And Minnie

After seeing them at Disney on Ice, I can't wait to see them this April 2010 at Hongkong Disneyland. This will be our birthday treat for my son who will soon turn 4. He is a big fan of Mickey Mouse so I know that he will surely have a blast seeing the entire crew once again. I admit that when I saw them I feel like a child too. I will not be surprised if me and my husband will be kids at heart by then. I cant wait, i am seriously counting the days already.

A place for you

My family has always been my source of strength and happiness. I am so grateful that I am now blessed with two kids and a loving husband. But sometimes, I can't help but face the realities of life. Time flies swiftly, that soon my kids will have families of their own. I don't expect my kids to forever stay with me as I will fully understand them if they want to stay with their own families. But if they will like me to find shelter in their own homes, then I am good with that too.

I have an aunt and uncle who is childless , and at his point in their life, they wanted to just stay in a home care facility in their area. At first it was not into their norm, but when they experienced being sick, and no one was here to help them, that's when they longed for a family. They asked about senior independent living in their area. It my not offer home car , but it has housekeeping and recreational activities-something they both need now. But my uncle got terribly sick late last year so he needs additional care with medicines and other stuff. My aunt went around the area and checked the assisted living communities there. She never knew that there's a lot of housing options available which is depending on your needs. There's skilled nursing facilities, board and care homes, and even senior apartments and villas. I wasn't also aware of these , it is only now when my aunt got into assisted living facilities. This type of facility provides different levels of assistance for the seniors who may need help in their daily life and medications. This is more independent than a nursing home, and i think this is the perfect one for my relatives. She still wants to be independent and do things in her own, but she may need assistance with some other things like medicines etc.

I really can't say it if I will no or will go into this assisted living communities. but if time will come that me and my husband will face this decision, I will certainly stay there if that would be the best for us health wise. I think it would be better than just styaing at home alone, because there we have some people who can interact and socialize with us.

I need a break.

As much as i wanted to bake brownies, I can't because I am so swamped with work and chores at home. So I will settle with my all time favorite Rocky Mountain Mogul from Mrs. Fields.



This is a tiring week for me , and I honestly can't wait for Saturday. Thank heavens for comfort foods , right? Never mind if this will add up to my calories intake for today, I just need the sugar fix to keep me going.

Aside from this yummy, I am thinking of getting a massage really soon! I told you, i really need a break hahahaha!

Christmas Tree shopping

It seems that it was only yesterday when my mom was setting up our Christmas tree. Time flies swiftly, the Holidays is over , and we stored our Christmas tree in its old box. Christmas truly holds a lot of memories for me ever since I was a child. Every year , I make it a point to put up a tree and think of the colors and ornaments to place on it. However, this tree that we are using now is not on it perfect shape already. I wanted to get a new one, but I always feel like this has a sentimental value for me. So I thought of keeping this in our basement for future use, and get myself a new one for this year.

Do you know when is the best time to buy Christmas Trees ? Oh yes, its this month of January! Just last week, when me and my husband went to the mall, we saw a wide array of Christmas trees on sale. I was too tempted to get one because the one we had last year truly needs replacement. My husband said no for now and wait for further reductions in price. True enough, I saw Artificial Christmas Trees at 70%off its original price. What a steal, right? I immediately went crazy looking at the display of colors.

Just like my mom, I was always fascinated with Christmas trees and I exert my effort in decorating it. What do you think about White Christmas Trees? Personally, i think its a lot easier to decorate the white ones because any color of the ornaments would blend in ,right? My husband however thinks that maybe we should get the green classic ones . Now I am confused which one to get. Maybe i should look over the available Christmas tress and let feelings decide. Whatever catches my attention first, then I will get it as long as it fits right in my budget.

Hotel Kimberly - Tagaytay

I've been planning an overnight stay at Tagaytay for weeks now, but I can't find the perfect date for it. Our weekends got a little busy so I end up postponing the trip. The pictures above are grabbed from Agoda.com , they really have great prices for the accommodations , and so far good reviews. The only negative feedback is their location. They are a bit far from the national highway so it's not accessible to the tourist spots and prime locations. But if we will talk about the rooms and facilities, I heard good points about this hotel. They have a swimming pool and mini playground for the kids too. Hopefully we can stay at Tagaytay by next month, just perfect for the cold weather.

Window Cover

In my part of the world, summer will soon start so I am gearing up for the heat. Last week, I checked the clothes of the kids and got their summer clothes ready. They tend to sweat a lot anytime of the day even though it is not summer. Then as part of our Summer schedule, I am already planning out a beach getaway with my family but no definite plans yet. I am still on a lookout for the beach that would fit perfectly at my budget.

Aside from those mentioned above, our home is also preparing for Summer. Well , I am removing the heavy curtains that we used during the Christmas Season. We need air to flow smoothly in oour living room, so I am looking for nice Window Coverings to match our windows and some panels here at the house. It would certainly block the rays of the sun, but still it would allow fresh air to circulate around . I am checking out some Hunter Douglas Vertiglide in Honey Comb shade.. i like the color because it matches our walls and furniture . This type of blinds are of good price range already, and If I will certainly be lucky, I can get it at an even discounted price.

Lastly, I am checking out Bali Blinds. My mom told me that this brand is really good because she gets this most of the time. When you have kids around the house, you always think of all your furniture and how safe and sturdy it could be. Of course we value safety and money all the time. I want our pieces here to last a long time. Hopefully I can make up my mind with what type of covering i want for the window. The window coverings are really key pieces to in most part of our rooms. We shouldn't just neglect it and just choose anything that we see. Check, research and know the product that you are using.

.. just in time for the 4th birthday of my son. I was able t buy some discounted airfare tickets so we are visiting the happiest place on Earth ! My little boy is soooo in love with Mickey Mouse and the gang.. and I bet, he will have a grand time here. I can't wait for April !

Just for kids

Summer is near, So as early as now, I am thinking of activities that I can do with my kids. My 4 year old boy is into drawing and coloring so I check on some art materials already. I am getting him Childrens Books too because he is still in love with reading, especially before bed time. We never say goodnight to each other without reading two or three books every night. My 1 year old girl would certainly need more Educational Toys for her age. She is currently using hand me down toys from his brother. Good thing this toys are colorful so its okay for both girls and boys.

My son is also into gadgets this early. Those kiddie computers and learning gadgets, oh how he loves that! I need to get him those latest Childrens Educational Software so he will get updated with learning. I am thankful to these toys and educational materials for the kids. They help us moms on how to teach our kids the easier way. I cant wait for summer enjoy every moment with the kids.

Workplace needs

Everyday life is getting crazy with my two kids, well, its both crazy and fun. Time flies that I see them grow right before my eyes. I've been tremendously busy attending to them, finishing some chores and managing things here in the house. Add to that, my husband also has his tasks for me. I mostly do research for the things that he needs for work and office. Last week, I helped him with some insurance quotes, and this time he asked me to check how much are grit bins . So I checked on its price and its uses too. Salt and Grit bins are winter tools placed at the streets where there is heavy snow . It improves road safety especially when the road is not gritted with any means. I am sure that he will not use this here in our area, maybe, in one of their offices outside our city.

Then he is also looking out for linbin that he will use in their department. Astoria Plaza weekend

Things got a bit crazy last week so I invited my husband to stay at Astoria Plaza in Ortigas, my treat. He said yes of course! Thanks to Agoda.com for the great rates and easy reservation process. I verify the details of our reservation and paid thru paypal. Then a day after, I called Astoria to confirm our booking, and yes, we are so set to stay for a night. I booked a one bedroom unit,but they gave us a 2 bedroom unit . The other room is locked though, but still im thankful for the big space where my kids can run around. We also have a separate kitchen area. So here are some pics of the room







It was a short but fun filled weekend for us. However, I left a few things there, and too bad, i still have to call them when i found it out at home. I guess they should have informed it to us upon check out because we waited for like 20-30 minutes when they were checking our room. Oh well, lesson learned, I still need to go back to Astoria this weekend to claim my stuff.

Survive Anything!

A few months back, our place was terribly hit by a storm. It was in International news, a lot of facilities were highly damaged, lies lost and houses were smashed by the strong typhoon. Eversince then, I became vigilant whenever a storm will hit the country. I guess that's the one thing that most of us learned during the calamity, and that is being prepared anytime. In a weekend bag, i packed some clothes of the kids, diaper for the baby and a first aid kit. I also placed a jacket for both of them just in case its raining, you know. Then in our room, I also have a handy flashlight, and a whistle in our bag. I learned about the importance of a whistle when i saw a young boy being saved not because his shout was heard, but because of the whistle that he used to call the rescue team.

I know some who invested with a survival gear . I too would like to get one soon. One should really be prepared for any disaster that might hit anytime. We all dont know when it will come. My sister even told me that at their office, they have this survival kit per department. Its like a small pail that contains water, calorie bars , candle, glow sticks, survival whistle, water proof matches, blanket, first aid kits, etc. I think this is also nice to have at home . It is so complete and it will surely be a great help in times of disaster. Always remember that we should alwasy be prepared.

As much as I wanted to experience ShangriLa in Boracay, I think I really can't afford it now. Hahaha. Of course, ShangriLa Mactan would always be my top choice since we are travelling with kids. ME and my family will never get tired going to this wonderful place. You dont need to leave the resort at all ! This family resort is our top choice when it comes to accommodations, facilities, beach, services and customer service. Every stay is such a new experience for us. Aside from its child friendly swimming pools, it has a family area at the beach with beach toys the kids will enjoy. And of course, there's the Adveb\nture Zone , E zone gaming area and Timezone that my son love to bits.

Now all I need is to wait for a sale for domestic flights, then I will book my family for my birthday:)

After watching the Disney on Ice last week, I am now filling up our schedule on shows that we can watch for this year. Having 2 kids in the family simply means additional tickets, so I make sure to get the best rates with the best deals. Think its impossible? This is a nice wedding gift , right? We are attending a wedding of a friend next month and i still dont kow what to give them. They are starting out their new home so I know they will need the basics. And yes, those basics would surely be plates, casseroles, pans, etc.. So to make it a little different yet functional, I want to give them this and some other Brita products I found online.

Today is the last day of the Cebu Pacific promo fares. They are offering 50% off their regular rates in domestic and even International destinations. I had a hard time to get into their website during the first day, maybe traffic was really heavy then. Now I can see some sale, but unfortunately, I dont like the time. Its either too late or too early for departure. Oh well, im wishing myself goodluck in the coming promotions.

Hiking?

My husband and I promised that this year, we will try to be physically fit. I wanted to enroll myself in the gym, and he wants to join the hiking group in their office. He has always enjoyed the outdoors so i know that this would be a perfect way for him to stay fit. He is into Outdoor Fun since we were in college and even joined the mountaineering club then. Hopefully now , he will not lose interest with this . I am planning to get him Hiking Boots to set him in the mood. This is a must when he goes hiking to protect his feet and to provide him comfort as well.

I am not getting him a tent yet. I need to see first if he will really continue to enjoy this outdoor activity before I make big purchases. He sometimes has this attitude of enjoying it at first then losing interest after a few weeks. As for me, I will start with my gym classes this month, and yeah i need to do a little shopping too.

See's chocolates

The box is now empty! Me and my husband feasted over these chocolates during the Holidays. Now I am sure that i gained a few pounds.

Travel to the Carribean

Its the start of the year and i told my husband that this would be our year to travel as a family. My little girl is big enough to travel now, no more parties and less shopping so we can all enjoy travelling. Last year, we had a grand time at the beach and we are looking forward to more beach escapades this year. I always research about all inclusive vacation because I want everything to be hassle free, since we have 2 kids in tow. Aside from room accomodations, it would be perfect if the package would include food, transportation and some water sports maybe. I remember, a cousin of mine had a Caribbean vacation last year, and based on her pictures, I can tell that she really had so much fun. I hope I can afford that kind of vacation. Me and my family are sun worshippers and beach lovers, so I know that the carribean would be perfect.

Right now , I am still on search for a all inclusive vacation package that would book our summer. My son really enjoyed the beach and the sand so I know how much he would enjoy the carribean. Hopefully i can get the best promotion packages so my family can start planning our trip now. Wish me luck ! Here's to more travel for 2010!

Be safe this 2010

Safety has been my concern here at home since I have two kids. I may not go way beyond baby proofing, but I am always aware of some hazards around here. This goes out too whenever we are on the road. An accident can happen anytime, wherever we maybe so its really better to be safe than sorry. I still remember. a few months back, we witnessed a car accident at the highway, and thankfully , no one was seriously hurt. It only shows that even if we are on the house or travelling, an accident may occur. Let us all hope and pray for a safe 2010 for all of us.

Happy New Year everyone!

I do hope you had a grand time celebrating with your families and loved ones. Let us all welcome the new year with a fresh mind, a lot of love in our hearts and more blessings for all of us. I only have a few pics at my pc so I will just post some here later.
