Wilderness Therapy

Wilderness therapy, or adventure therapy is one procedure designed for teens with behavioral challenges. My uncle told me how some of the teens in their area are responding to this therapy. This is not just a therapy for the patient, but they involve the family for the complete transformation.

In some centers , wilderness therapy involves hiking and survival skills, but this one particular program is different because they focus on working in an organic land and they teach them too about life skills. They design a specific program for every patient and it starts with an assessment of what the patient needs. Everyone has an individualized program based on structure and support. There is a Personal Development Plan for every patient too. Their families take part in the process so as to provide further more understanding and support. The goals are reached in no time as long as the patient is cooperative.

Imagine working in an organic land? isn't it therapeutic at all? The gardens and farms are rewarding on it's own. This is just a part of the complete program. They also have Family programs once in a while to creater further understanding between them. Previous patients attest how they were developed so well after completing the program. They are hands down with the safe and natural environment that they had.
